For the first time ever Dublin City South Volunteer Centre is running an Active Citizenship and Volunteering week from September 25th to October 1st - culminating in the National Day of Volunteering.

The aim of the week is to promote Active Citizenship and provide actual opportunities for Volunteering and Civic Engagement throughout the week. For more information about any of the events below please contact Edwina.

Saturday September 25th

10am – 6pm

Active Leadership Training

Clogher Road Community Sports Complex Dublin 12

Who is this for? Volunteers who would like to gain experience in delivering Sports and Recreational Activities with local groups/clubs (Please see course outline at bottom of the page).

Sunday September 26th

1pm -5pm

Volunteer Fair

Meeting House Square Temple Bar, Dublin 2

Who is this for? Community and Voluntary organisations who would like to promote themselves and recruit volunteers. It is also for people interested in finding out about all the various ways in which they can volunteer. Special guest will be the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Gerry Breen. There will also be entertainment and food available.

Garda Reserve Recruitment Drive

Stephen's Green Shopping Centre, Dublin 2

Who is this for? Anyone interested in finding out more or volunteering with the Garda Reserves.

Wednesday September 29th

10am- 1:30pm

Child Protection Training

St. Catherine's Foyer, Dublin 8

Who is this for? Free child protection training for volunteers interested in acquiring this knowledge.

Wednesday September 29th

Board Roles and Responsibilities Workshop

Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership Dublin 10

Who is this for? Board /Management Committee Members and Managers of Voluntary or Community groups in Dublin 10/20 who would like to improve the way their Board/Committee works and learn more about their roles and what is expected of them (Please see course outline at the bottom of the page).

Volunteer Information Evening with No Name! Club

Who is this for? Anyone interested in helping to setup and run a new No Name! Club youth club in their area.
